Henry Clay Sr. (April 12, 1777 – June 29, 1852) was an American attorney and statesman who represented Kentucky in both the Senate and House. Porter was a member of the New York State Legislature, a member of the United States House of Representatives from New York State, a major general in the War of 1812, and United States Secretary of War from 1828 to 1829.
